A small-scale and, frankly, uninspired two-hander about the tangled relationship between an unhappy married copper and the hard-bitten prostitute from who he derives emotional solace. Ray Winstone plays the male half of the equation, and it's safe to say that without his participation the film would be unlikely to garner much attention - still less a cinema release. But even Winstone's considerable talents struggle to breathe life into a flat script, which seems to take an interminable age to navigate its dramatic turning points. As the Soho "model", Jan Graveson puts up a decent showing opposite Winstone and gets one or two moving moments to work with; but there's something irredeemably stagey about the whole enterprise.
