Hello!
I'd like to start by giving you a short overview of today's presentation. I would like to show you how changed the number of people who emigrate abroad. I will tell you about the reasons for the largest emigrations and which countries were most attractive to the Poles in the past. I will also present how the situation looks today.
First of all we are going to look at the first column(słupek). We see that five years ago nearly one million people emigrated from the Poland. As we look at the next column we can see that this number is not so big.
According to the diagram a number rose sharply to nearly the third million in 2007r. The main reason of that was the Polish accession to the European Union in 2004. Record numbers of people emigrated mainly to Germany, UK, Spain and Italy to work there. Most of them left to get a job, to earn more but some people left for another reasons, for example: to learn a foreign language, gain experience, to meet a new culture. However the main motivation to leave was high unemployment. In some Polish regions reached the level 20 % in the auditorium of the country. The Poland left not only low-skilled workers without education and job opportunities in the country. The young and well educated people, too.
For the next two years the number of emigrants fall slowly.
In 2008 the number of people who emigrate abroad very clearly reduced from 2210000 to 1300000. This was the result of the economic crisis, which caused a significant decrease of interest in the Polish emigration. They came back because life there has became much more expensive and here they could count on the support of families, relatives.
A similar situation was in last year. More people decided return to the country, so the number shrinked by 40000 compared with previous year.
In connection with preparation for EURO 2012 unemployment rate is decreasing in this year. The economic situation is improving, so a lot of people to coming back to work.
experts warn: 1 MAY 2011 will by fully opened their labour markets to Poles in Germany and Australia. It will be another ware of emigration, unfortunately the worse the consequences for our economy than a few years ago.
