Dlaczego na początku jest Present Simple, potem Present Continuous, a potem jeszcze Past Simple? Co to w ogóle znaczy?

ponieważ… wiatry wiejące z siłą huraganu zniszczyły duż…e połacie kraju (oni) zostawiają za sobą ślady zniszczenia, zerwane linie energetyczne i połamane słupy telefoniczne, zerwane dachy i wyrwane z korzeniami drzewa.
najpierw wiatr dokonał zniszczeń więc jest simple past, potem oni opuszcają to miejsce więc jest present continuous, a potem są imiesłowy bierne a nie simple past.
