In the 1990s, she started to combine classical and pop to make ‘fusion’ music. Her first fusion CD was called The Violin Player.
In 2004, Vanessa-Mae made the CD, Choreography, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. There are a lot of international musical influences on Choreography, from Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Africa and India.
Vanessa-Mae hasn’t got much free time, but she goes skiing when she can and she likes travelling. At the moment, Vanessa-Mae is doing charity work with the Red Cross in Kenya and Cambodia. She often travels around the world for concerts. She has visited more than fifty countries. She’s also very good at languages. She speaks English, Spanish, French and Chinese.
