"Pros and cons of school uniforms"
School uniforms are compulsory in many countries in the world: in Australia, Malaysia, Japan. In Poland in 2006 minister of education restored school uniforms, but in 2008 school uniforms were removed. Was that correct decision? What are pros and cons with wearing uniforms?
There are several arguments supporting put school uniforms into effect.
To begin with identical clothes in schools encourage discipline. So, students can better concentrate on study.
Secondly, uniforms help indentify intruders in the school, so students are safer, because they are not expose to contacts with for example drug dealers.
Furthermore, the uniforms are cheap and students look elegant, too. Uniforms removing difference between rich and poor students. Uniforms help students resist peer pressure to buy trendy clothes.
On the other hand, there are a number of disadvantages.
One, uniforms are useless outside the school.
Also, uniforms limit freedom of style. All students look the same. This is very boring and kill their individualism.
To sum up, I think that school uniforms should come back to primary and secondary schools, because I see more advantages than disadvantages. I think that such duty will have good resultats in good breeding children.
