„Las Vegas looks the way you would imagine Haven must look AT Wight” Said one of the American’s writer – and He definitely knew what He was tal king about. To most people Las Vegas is also known as ‘Sin City’ or ‘The Mecca of entertainment’ and there is no doubt that it is one of the most popular tourists destination, which no one should ever miss to visit. The thing is that to see what attractions are offered to us, we have to go there by night. Then, we enter a twenty-four hour party.
Walking down The Strip – the part of Las Vegas Boulevard is like a journey, like a day-dream. Looking around ourselves we are under the impression that the whole world was closed in this city. The watchful eye of Sphinx observes the tourists and the view of illuminated The Eiffle Tower or Fountain Di Trevi takes us on a trip to Europe. Poring over further and further we are struck by towering buildings, which seem to touch the sky and make people feel like ants in a city jungle. Streets are built-up by casinos and hotels giving an expression of wealth and enormous sums of money left there by gamblers. People are sitting in front of slot machines and gambling tables waiting with bated breath for the sound of jingling coins. At every turn, there are hundreds of eye-catching advertisements and colourful billboards offering us various kinds of entertainments in clubs, hotels and theatres. Men dressed up as Elvis are shouting that the King is alive and on the opposite of the street it is likely to hear an excitement of a young couple, who is running to the nearby chapel to get married. The congestion of people is so big that it is hardly possible to get to the dummy of volcano, which erupts hourly for the early evening to the late night. When the show ends up, both children and adults spread out in different directions. Some of them draw up in a queue to The Big Wheel while others become too scared to take a ride on a rollercoaster after the shrieks of people, which they could hear high above from the ground. (tutaj jakieś zdanie kończące rozwinięcie, tylko jeszcze nie wiem jakie..)
Las Vegas can be compared to a vampire – sleepy by day and coming alive at night to suck the whole energy and money from people. And then, when the night is over, the day comes – time for rest and relaxation.
